IANA is broadly responsible for the allocation of globally-unique names and numbers that are used in Internet protocols.
IANA delegates local registrations of IP addresses to Regional Internet Registries (RIRs).
IANA administers the data in the root nameservers, which is the top of the hierarchial DNS tree.

Topic Description
My topic is a program that makes 3D computer generated models and images. Its called Maya. The industry standard in CGI, companies such as ILM (industrial light and magic owned by Geroge Lucas), Dreamworks, and PIXAR.
I am hoping to learn how to animate and character model.

I decided to go with highend3d.com. The format for a tutorial on modeling was done professionally, it used the lingo maya uses to quickly give instructions and execute a project. In the end I learned a new way to model a character.

I learned that we should not be wasteful of our old technology, because it might wind up as poison to another country.

Facts:
I found that “metals buyers won’t accept copper wire until plastic insulation is burned off”. During that time toxic fumes are breathed in from the local workers who need a job to support themselves.

“China forbids the import of electronic and computer scrap…”. Interesting seeing as Hong Kong has a huge black market and I think would welcome those imports to produce more “bootleg” products.

“Little infrastructure exists to dispose of the large percentage of used imports that cannot be salvaged for reuse.” Its unacceptable to be using a country as a waste refuge.

Proactive Steps:
organizations have been made just for this exact problem. Old electronics are always discarded as trash, end up at landfills, and poison countries like Ghana. The products we don’t use should be sent to these organizations like Earth911.

Freeware vs Shareware vs Open Source

Reading this article I didn’t learn that which I have already known. Since I deal with graphic design as my major I am always involved in computers, software, hardware, and anything else that has to do with “tech”.

I visited the MacOSZone and found its supply limited and lacking a good layout. Compared to other sites like the actual apple.com or thepiratebay, this site lacked in variety of available applications to download. Also the layout while trying to be that of a mac site, is unoraganized and is lacking in that same clean look of the apple site.

Not having updated it, I downloaded iTunes from MacOSZone, and got the newest version. I will keep it as it helps me organize and store my music files in a way that is very neat, and easy to navigate. I did not know about these sites before this assignment

Ubiquitous Computing is computing that is omnipresent and is, or appears to be, everywhere all the time; may involve many different computing devices that are embedded in various devices or appliances and operate in the background.
I think that technology is already being misused in order for a certain party to reap its benefits. I do not think it is responsible however to put aside the cause and effect of our advance technology just so we can hack personal computers, steal social security numbers, shut down countries, and our lives.
I think he is seeing a vision that of the “matrix” movies. Who is to say that it cannot become a reality, we already have virtual reality programs, why not the next level.
Indeed he is correct, you see the American society is that of a lazy, busy, and inpatient one. We needs things, first, now and quick. Touch, vision and speech interfaces have begun to show themselves in the average American technology such as phones, and computers. These modern marvels will make computing easier.
Computing has come a long way from just serving for functionality to personal use. Some think we are headed towards a robot controlled future of metal over lords who will use us as batteries. I believe that we are at an age where our technology is advancing on a front that probably exceeds our imagination.
Podcasts are a great invention. I subscribe to G4tv(technology, and pop culture “geek” channel on cable) podcasts on iTunes. This podcast’s music bothered me as it seemed cheap and it made it very hard to pay attention
